The beloved ITV soap has been broadcasting a special series of flashback episodes this week, building up to Betsy Swain (Sydney Martin) uncovering a dead body on the cobbles.
The identity of the victim has been kept tightly under wraps, though it will be one of five villainous characters
These include child groomer Megan Walsh (Beth Nixon), abuser Theo Silverton (James Cartwright), conman Carl Webster (Jonathan Howard), Rovers co-owner Maggie Driscoll (Pauline McLynn), and newcomer Jodie Ramsey (Olivia Frances Brown).
Each episode this week has concentrated on every suspected victim, kicking off with Theo on Monday. Tuesday’s instalment centred on Carl, Wednesday spotlighted Jodie, while Thursday featured both Maggie and Megan. All of this leads up to the big murder revelation tonight (Friday, May 1), reports the Daily Star.

Viewers have been captivated by this week’s flashbacks, however some sharp-eyed fans were left frustrated by one particular detail.
Several viewers have picked up on unusual camera angles throughout this week’s episodes, which have left some feeling queasy.
“What were they doing with the camera in tonight’s episode? I found myself watching the TV with my head tilted. Bit like how the dogs look at me when I ask him something simple,” one person wrote on Reddit.

Another viewer commented: “It was awful. Made me feel a bit sea sick,” while a third remarked: “Completely agree, it’s almost like the work experience kids got a chance to film.”
A fourth fan shared similar thoughts, stating: “I feel sorry for older viewers, such as my parents, who rang me to check it wasn’t their TV on the blink,” with another adding: “I was tripping on these camera angles, they were making me feel sick for some reason.”

One viewer offered an explanation for the filming approach, noting: “Dutch angles. It was famously used for all scenes taking place in the villains’ lairs in the 1960’s Batman TV show. Maybe it’s a homage, seeing as we are in villains week?!?”
Corrie enthusiasts will need to wait until 8.30pm on Friday as the murder reveal won’t be released early on ITVX or YouTube.
This means that fans can steer clear of spoilers during the day and witness the dramatic unveiling as it happens. While the victim’s identity stays hidden, many devoted viewers have voiced frustration about the schedule change.
