Coronation Street fans LEFT SPEECHLESS: This unlikely duo’s powerful scene is a total game-changer!
Coronation Street fans have taken to social media to applaud the ITV soap for last night’s (Tuesday, May 12) powerful scenes between Tim Metcalfe (Joe Duttine) and Will Driscoll (Lucas Hodgson-Wale).
The episode saw Tim open up to Will about his own experience of sexual abuse as a teenager in a bid to give him a new perspective of his current situation.
Viewers will know that Will has been groomed and abused by sports coach Megan Walsh (Beth Nixon), and was on his way to meet her so they could run away together.

However, Will’s family worked out what he was up to and warned Tim of his plan.
Having been abused himself as a 14-year-old, Tim was able to say just the right things to change Will’s mind about his relationship with Megan.
When they pulled up outside the police station, Tim managed to persuade Will to go inside and report Megan’s abuse.
The scenes really resonated with Metro readers, who took to Facebook to praise them.
‘Best episode for a long time! Well done Tim for getting through to Will,’ Claire wrote, while Jeannie added: ‘This was so brilliantly written & delivered by both actors, that’s why Corrie has lasted for decades.’
Fans on Twitter/X were also in awe, praising the ‘powerful’ scenes and reflecting on their importance.
Others were quick to applaud Tim for his handling of the situation, giving much-deserved credit to actors Joe Duttine and Lucas Hodgson-Wale for their performances.

Tim’s approach was very different to everyone else who has tried to get through to Will.
Instead of pushing for him to admit the truth, Tim shared how popular his own experience had made him at school, while going along with Will’s insistence that nothing happened between him and Megan.
This tactic encouraged Will to eventually reveal that Megan had slept with him, before laying out their plans to run away and start a family.
Outside the police station, Tim pointed out the flaws in Will’s plan, highlighting that the law would catch up with Megan eventually.
This was the final tipping point for Will, who took the opportunity to report Megan.

It also gave Tim food for thought, and in tonight’s (Wednesday, May 13) episode, he confronts his own abuser, Trisha Pinkerton (Anita Booth).
