Y&R Recap – Sep 10: Cane Sabotages the Launch and Gives Billy, Sally, and Phyllis a Weapon to Defeat Victor
On today’s Y&R (Wednesday, September 10, 2025), Cane sabotages the Abbott Communications launch, leaving Billy, Sally, and Phyllis stunned as he reveals a secret weapon that could finally bring Victor down, while Kyle’s fight with Holden leaves Claire questioning their future..

Society
Billy and Sally arrive at the restaurant, where their launch party is supposed to be happening. Nobody is there except for Cane.
Cane wasn’t sure they’d show up. He takes a drink. “That’s smooth!” He says he’s the only guest there… The party has been called off, and hopefully the launch of Abbott Communications has, too! He’s had the decorations pulled, the servers dismissed, and took the party sign off the door.
Sally can’t believe what he’s done. She wonders why there aren’t any of their guests there.
Cane says he sent out a mass text to the guests telling them the party is off. He asks them to sit down and talk with him. They shouldn’t launch a company right now… Victor will take control of their company’s finances and there’s nothing they can do to stop them!
Billy wonders how Victor could do any of that.
Phyllis walks in. “I’ll tell you exactly how! Cane sold us out!” She asks Cane if what she heard was true… Does he have an A.I. program that can take over any company’s systems?
Cane tells them to all have a drink… They’re going to need it! He figures Victor must have told her about this.
Phyllis asks why he didn’t let her in on his plan.
Sally is confused. What are they even talking about? Why did he delay the launch party?
Cane shrugs. Victor discovered the extent of his plan, which involved A.I. to take over companies and backed him into a corner. He’s going to give them information to protect them and their company, but he needs their help in exchange for it.
Phyllis wants to know how she fits into this. She’s his strongest supporter!
Cane laughs and tells Billy and Sally that Phyllis is stuck to him like glue… He can’t get rid of her! He says that he really does appreciate her support, though… Just like he’d appreciate Billy and Sally’s support.
Billy wants to know why Victor would come after Abbott Communications.
Cane says that Victor hates Billy, maybe even more than he hates Cane! He tells Phyllis to explain what his tech team has created.
Phyllis laughs. Now he wants her to explain things? Fine. She tells him to jump in if she gets any of it wrong. She says that Cane’s company has created an A.I. that can go into a company, take control of it, and can move money around without being detected.
Cane nods. If Victor succeeds in blackmailing him and gets his hands on the program, he’ll use it on his enemies. They’d hit Abbott Communications and make it look like Billy and Jack mismanaged it into failure, then swoop in and buy everything for pennies on the dollar.
Sally can’t believe it’s even possible. Why would he create something like this?
Billy gets it. “Because it’s amazing!” He asks how Victor found out that Cane had this A.I. technology.
Cane says Victor has spies everywhere. They found out his team has it, and now Victor wants it. He did them a favor by cancelling tonight’s event.
Sally asks what he wants in return.
Cane says he wants to keep his hands clean. He’s willing to give them the A.I. program so they can take down Victor by themselves!
The Abbott Mansion
Jack calls Billy and leaves a voicemail. He says that both he and Diane received his urgent message about the launch party being called off… What’s going on? He disconnects the call and wonders what’s happening.
Diane thinks that there might have been a glitch in the launch… Maybe Sally had to cancel it, or maybe it’s just Billy being his chaotic self.
Jack has tried Billy and Sally’s cellphones. He makes a few phone calls, but can’t find anything out.
Diane wonders if Cane might have done something to cause Billy to cancel the party. Maybe he made Billy a better offer?
Jack doesn’t want to speculate. This just doesn’t make sense!
Diane scoffs. It doesn’t? She thinks Billy has done something.
Jack isn’t sure what’s up… Could Cane actually have gotten to Billy? His phone rings and he answers. “No comment!” He complains that the press has gotten ahold of the Abbott Communications launch party being canceled.
Diane looks at her phone and laughs. His “no comment” comment is already trending! She still thinks this is Billy’s fault somehow.
Jack can’t see it… Billy wouldn’t want this mess!
Diane plays the devil’s advocate. Something might have changed! Cane knows how much Billy wants Chancellor, so he’s probably doing something with that!
Jack won’t believe that Cane convinced Billy to turn on him. If Cane wants Jack out, he’ll have to tell him to his face!
Crimson Lights
Kyle grabs a coffee, and Holden walks in. Kyle asks him if he got drunk with Claire last night. He thinks Holden has been putting the moves on Claire and warns him to stay away from her.
Holden isn’t sure where this is coming from… He was at Society with Claire and they had a few drinks, but it was casual.
Kyle tells him that he needs to leave Claire alone.
Holden says he doesn’t need to protect Claire. She can look out for herself.
Kyle warns him that Claire is vulnerable and doesn’t need him interfering.
Holden says Claire needed to blow off some steam, and it was her idea to have some drinks. She needed someone to confide in. He was there for Claire when Cole got sick and after he died, while Kyle was in Nice with Audra! He says that he told Audra to leave them alone. He laid down the law with Kyle’s ex and now Kyle is coming after him! He warns him not to come after him again with accusations like this… He doesn’t have a leg to stand on!
Kyle can’t believe Holden talked to Audra about him and Claire… He shouldn’t have gotten involved!
Holden knows that Claire is going through a hard time, and he did it for her. Claire has questions about her faith in Kyle!
Kyle says that Holden is overstepping. He’s trying to work things out with Claire, but Audra’s interference isn’t helping! He warns Holden that he needs to back the hell off!
Claire walks in just as Kyle tells Holden to back off.
Kyle asks whether he can order her a drink.
Claire asks what they were talking about… Why’d Kyle tell Holden to back off?
Holden says that Kyle thinks he’s a bad influence; he knows they hung out and had some drinks.
Kyle says it’s fine… Holden was just looking out for her, but they don’t really know much about him! He’s done something shady in L.A. with Audra, and he doesn’t think they should trust him!
Claire says it’s not his decision to make. Holden isn’t a problem, he’s not like Audra! He doesn’t have the right to dictate who she’s friends with… And if he thinks he does, then their relationship doesn’t stand a chance!
Kyle apologizes. He doesn’t want to control who she hangs out with!
Holden says he doesn’t want any trouble. They’re a nice couple, and he wants them to be happy! He says he’ll handle Audra.
Kyle tells him that he can handle Audra by himself.
Claire doesn’t think Kyle should be anywhere near Audra… She doesn’t trust her!
Holden thinks they need some alone time. He leaves the cafe.
Kyle asks Claire if she came back to see him.
Claire says she came back for a brownie. She asks him if he picked a fight with Holden.
Kyle says he was afraid Holden was messing with her head… Abby told him that Claire was drinking with Holden at Society.
Claire says it was her choice to drink with Holden. She asked him.
Kyle thinks Holden is only putting on an act for her. He thinks Holden is bad news like Audra… They did something shady in L.A… Who knows what that was all about?
Claire asks what this has to do with them as a couple.
Kyle doesn’t believe Holden wants them to be a happy couple… He can see in Holden’s eyes that he wants Claire!
Chancellor Park Overlook
Claire walks into the park where she sees Holden. She says she followed him to apologize. She’s sorry that Kyle treated him like that!
Holden says that Kyle confronted him because he cares about her.
Claire thinks Kyle is frustrated with Audra and is taking it out on Holden.
Holden nods. Kyle sees both Audra and himself as a threat. He understands why he feels that way, too.
Claire says Kyle only has himself to blame for any tensions between them.
Holden laughs and thanks her for “defending his honor.”
Claire says he should tell her what happened with Audra in L.A… It obviously still bothers him, and she’d like to help him.
Holden says what went down wasn’t totally legal… If she knew the truth about what happened, it might change the way she sees him. He’d rather let go of the past.
Claire doesn’t think it’d change the way she sees him. He’s a good guy who is strong and funny. He’s obviously moved past it! She’s no stranger to breaking the law either. He knows that she was raised by her psychotic aunt Jordan. She tells him how Jordan had stolen her as a baby and taught her to share her hatred for the Newmans. She lied, manipulated, helped ruin her grandmother’s sobriety, and tried to murder her entire family… Whatever he and Audra did in L.A. probably doesn’t hold a candle to that!
Holden can’t imagine someone like Claire doing anything like that!
Claire says her family’s love and forgiveness saved her… They’ve been incredibly generous!
Holden grins. She deserves it, she’s a good person!
Claire says the past is the past and it shouldn’t be allowed to haunt a person.
Holden says he likes the way she thinks… In fact, he likes everything about her and can’t pretend that’s not the case anymore!
The Abbott Mansion
Kyle comes home and asks his parents what happened to the launch party… He got a message that it was cancelled!
Diane says they think that Cane got to Billy and got him to cancel the party. His parents notice that he’s looking pretty hangdog and ask him what happened… Does it have something to do with Claire?
Kyle doesn’t want to talk about it… He obviously has no clue what he’s doing when it comes to relationships! He heads into the dining room and his parents follow. He tells them that Holden has gotten close to Claire, and he doesn’t trust him. He says he ran into Holden and told him to stay away from Claire, but she overheard and took Holden’s side! He tried to explain himself, but he only made it worse. Claire thinks he’s trying to control her!
Diane thinks it’s a difficult situation, but it’s mostly Audra’s fault!
Jack says Audra had a lot riding on breaking Claire and Kyle up.
Kyle agrees. Maybe she succeeded!
