‘You’re having me on?’ EastEnders star shocked by The Chase error about him
EastEnders star Shiv Jalota has reacted after a question on The Chase about his role in the world of soap was answered incorrectly.
The actor, who plays Vinny Panesar on the BBC One soap, took to social media to share the clip from the ITV game show on his Instagram stories.
In the clip, host Bradley Walsh could be seen asking chaser Darragh Ennis which soap star Shiv appears in as Vinny Panesar, to which he responded with: ‘Emmerdale’.
With Emmerdale being the incorrect answer, Bradley stopped the clock and ‘pushed the chaser back’ after a show contestant correctly answered with EastEnders.
Jokingly reacting to the scene, Shiv commented: ‘Emmerdale your having me on?,’ with a laugh emoji.

Fan-favourite Shiv has portrayed Vinny since 2019, when the Panesar clan arrived in Walford.
The character has featured in numerous storylines over the years, many of which have involved his now iconic clan – including the Nish (Navin Chowdhry) saga, which saw the villainous patriarch released from prison.
Vinny desperately tried to see the best in his dad and often sought his approval but Nish’s true nature soon came to light and he became one of the show’s biggest villains to date.
His abuse and torment, particular towards former wife Suki (Balvinder Sopal), came to an end on New Years’ Day when he plummeted to his death while trying to kill his ex amid her wedding to Eve Unwin (Heather Peace).

In addition to the Nish story, Vinny was also prominent during the death of sibling Jags (Amar Adatia), who was framed by Suki for a crime committed by Vinny. He also had a relationship with Dotty Cotton (Milly Zero).
Shiv teased an upcoming storyline for Vinny back in September, telling Digital Spy: I’ve been there for like, six years. I’ve been very fortunate.
‘Ben [Wadey, EastEnders boss] has given me a beautiful storyline that I can’t give away.’
‘It’s exciting. Come November, there’s a lot of stuff for Vinny.’
