NEW UPDATE! 🆕📣 Coronation Street and Emmerdale confirm ITVX early release plans for Christmas
Both Coronation Street and Emmerdale have confirmed their release schedules for this week, revealing that both soaps will be dropping their Christmas Day episodes in the morning on ITVX and YouTube rather than making fans wait until traditional broadcast.
Corrie will be airing four days this week, with an hour-long episode today, half an hour on Christmas Eve, another hour on Christmas Day, and another half and hour on Boxing Day.
Meanwhile, Emmerdale also has an hour-long instalment on Christmas Day, with half an hour airing every other weekday.
It’s a different approach to EastEnders, which is holding back its Christmas Day episodes from streaming until they are broadcast.
Having said that, ITV has announced that the crossover episode Corriedale won’t be available to watch online until it goes out in TV in the nighttime, as there are some major surprises in store.

Coronation Street‘s Christmas Day will include more suffering for poor Todd Grimshaw at the hands of evil Theo Silverton, while Eva Price’s Christmas Dinner takes a dramatic turn.
There’s also an appearance from Gail, as the Platt family gather round to watch a festive message she sent them.
Over on Emmerdale, there’s a huge Christmas Day drama as Robert Sugden goes missing.
Elsewhere, Kim Tate is left facing the ghosts of her Christmases past as she pushes everyone away.
