Rumors of on-set trouble have once again surrounded Kevin Costner, with a recent report claiming that a heated argument between the actor and Yellowstone co-star Wes Bentley nearly turned physical.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the dispute happened during filming for the hit Paramount Network drama, when Costner, who played ranch patriarch John Dutton and also served as an executive producer, disagreed with how a scene should be performed. He allegedly urged Bentley to approach the moment differently than what was written in showrunner Taylor Sheridan’s script.

Bentley reportedly pushed back, telling Costner he was there to make “a Taylor Sheridan show,” not one directed by his co-star. Sources say the tension quickly escalated, leading to a brief physical confrontation before crew members stepped in to separate the two actors.
Witnesses told the outlet that the situation left actress Kelly Reilly, who plays Beth Dutton, visibly upset. Filming was said to have been paused after the incident.
The altercation has added to ongoing reports painting Costner as difficult to work with. The same THR story described the Oscar-winning actor as “impossible” on set and noted past issues involving disputes, walkouts, and production delays.
A follow-up from Page Six claimed that Costner was angered by the coverage and has since taken a break from the Hollywood chaos, reportedly diving into the ocean, literally. Sources told the outlet that the Dances with Wolves star has been spending time deep-sea diving in the Caribbean in search of sunken treasure. They even claimed he recently uncovered gold coins and emeralds.
Costner is said to be exploring the idea of turning his new passion into a television series about treasure hunting around the world. So far, no network or studio has reportedly agreed to back the project.
