Home and Away star speaks out as sick death hoaxes target the show’s cast
Former Home and Away star Lyn Collingwood has spoken out amid a spate of sick death hoaxes around the show’s cast.
The actor famously played Colleen Smart on the soap from its inception, last appearing as the character in 2013.
However, she was recently the subject of a disturbing death hoax in a social media post, leading some fans to share their condolences.

Lyn has now spoken following the false news, telling New Idea: “No, I’m not dead. It’s going to happen one day, but not yet! I’ve been throwing back red wine, but I’m still here!”
The star is one of a number of Home and Away cast members who have been at the centre of such false posts, which have claimed stars have either died or been diagnosed with major illnesses.

Among those targeted have been Ray Meagher (Alf Stewart), Ada Nicodemou (Leah Patterson), Georgie Parker (Roo Stewart) and Tessa James (Nicole Franklin), according to The New Daily.
Elsewhere in the interview, Lyn addressed the possibility of returning to Summer Bay, confirming that she hasn’t got her eye on a comeback.
“A few years ago I might have considered it, but now I’m that much older – and about 12 inches shorter,” she quipped.

In other Home and Away news, fellow former star Rebecca Breeds has revealed that there were plans to bring her character Ruby Buckton back, though they were scrapped due to scheduling issues.
“There was an opportunity years ago,” she told Chattr. “There was a storyline where the River Boys went to England, and they did want me to come back. I was working on a show called We Are Men at the time, and I couldn’t do it.”
Home and Away airs weekdays at 1.45pm on Channel 5, with repeat screenings at 6pm on 5STAR and first-look screenings at 6.30pm on 5STAR. Selected classic episodes are available via Prime Video in the UK.
