Home and Away has confirmed Tane Parata’s shocking decision as he and Harper Matheson butt heads over baby Archie. Could his bold parenting move ultimately cost him his child? Following the messy breakdown of their relationship, things have been pretty uncomfortable between Tane and Harper. But despite their differences, the pair chose to live together in order to provide a stable home for their son.

While heartbroken Harper struggled to see Tane moving on, she was determined to for Archie to know his father.

However, according to TV Week, upcoming episodes will see yet another rift between the co-parents which leads to Harper reconsidering Tane’s role in Archie’s life.

Next week, Harper returns home from visiting her mum, who she believes has overcome her drug addiction. Convinced that her absent parent could potentially be a wonderful grandma, Harper considers introducing her to Archie.

Her positivity is dampened by her sister Dana who remains sceptical about their mum’s supposed lifestyle change. Dana is reluctant to repair the relationship and is furious that Harper lied about the visit.

The argument is overheard by Tane who immediately takes Dana’s side. He bluntly tells Harper that her mother is not welcome in their home and he doesn’t want her to have anything to do with Archie.

Harper ignores Tane’s outburst and gives him some space to calm down, hoping he’ll eventually see sense. When she returns though, she is horrified to discover a note revealing Tane has taken Archie to keep him safe.

Her fears for her missing son are increased when Tane ignores her multiple texts and calls. After waiting for news of his whereabouts, Harper considers calling the police.

Dana reminds her that any further trouble with the authorities could land Tane in prison, given his existing suspended sentence for kidnapping. Though Harper holds off on reporting Tane, she later issues a stern warning demanding her son back by the end of the day.

In a shocking move, she reaches out to a solicitor to seek advice in a bid to gain full custody of Archie. Could Tane’s safeguarding attempt have destroyed his family?
