If you’re a Yellowstone fan, there was no way you weren’t at least a little curious about Marshals. Kayce Dutton heading off on his own and trading the ranch for a U.S. Marshals unit is a big shift—and it’s also a story that still has plenty left to tell. Season 1 kicked off in March, and while it didn’t look exactly like Yellowstone, it started to find its footing as it went. We got more of Kayce’s past, more of what he’s dealing with now, and a clearer sense of how this new chapter fits into everything that came before.

And let’s be honest, once you’re invested in a Dutton, you’re invested! So naturally, the question came up pretty quickly: are we getting more?

Short answer: yes. CBS renewed Marshals just weeks after its debut, which is a pretty strong sign that the show found its audience. The premiere alone pulled in more than 20 million viewers across platforms and it ended up being one of the biggest launches the network has had in years.

So while Season 1 is still fresh, Season 2 is already officially on the way!

There’s no exact premiere date yet, but the timing gives us a decent idea of what to expect. Since Marshals airs on CBS, it follows a more traditional network schedule. That usually means new seasons land in the fall, so Season 2 will likely arrive sometime in late 2026 if everything stays on track.

Nothing’s been locked in just yet, but it doesn’t sound like we’ll be waiting too long!

That part isn’t really up for debate—this whole show revolves around him figuring out what life looks like after everything he’s been through.

Other familiar faces in the Marshals cast will likely be back as well, including Pete (Logan Marshall-Green), Tate (Brecken Merrill), and Thomas Rainwater (Gil Birmingham). Their roles have been a little more in-and-out so far, but they’re still an important connection to Kayce’s past.

Season 1 followed a case-of-the-week structure, but it started weaving in more of Kayce’s personal story as it went on. That shift was important, especially for fans who were hoping for something closer to the character-driven storytelling of Yellowstone.

And there’s still a lot left to explore. Kayce is adjusting to a completely different kind of life, dealing with loss, and trying to figure out what comes next without the ranch factoring into everything he does. And with the way the first season has been unfolding, it wouldn’t be surprising to see more of those threads carry over into Season 2.

For now, it’s just nice knowing we’re not done with his story yet!
