General Hospital Friday, January 2 Recap: Sidwell Threatens Ace, Alexis Plots Michael's Takedown

General Hospital (GH) recap for Friday, January 2, reveals that Jens Sidwell (Carlo Rota) threatened Ace Cassadine (Karis and Kiernan) during a Charlotte Cassadine (Bluesy Burke) encounter while Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) plotted Michael Corinthos’ (Rory Gibson) takedown in court.

At Laura Collins’ (Genie Francis) place, Charlotte arrived to look after Ace and suggested taking him to the park while Laura had her meeting.

After Charlotte and Ace left, Laura opened the door to Ezra Boyle (Daniel Cosgrove) and immediately slammed it in his face.

Once Laura opened up again, she wondered what Sidwell wanted now.

Ezra explained that Sidwell wanted to put multiple helipads on Spoon Island and the piers, so he needed the mayor’s support.

Laura complained and wondered if Ezra really wanted to be Sidwell’s “bootlicker.”

Ezra made it clear that it was best to do what Sidwell demanded since she wouldn’t like the version of him who didn’t get what he wanted.

At Bobbie’s, Sidwell had a strategy session with Marco Rios (Adrian Anchondo) before running into Charlotte and Ace outside.

After Sidwell officially met them both, Marco got introductions as well.

After some talk about their Wyndemere connection, Sidwell made a cryptic comment about Charlotte needing to watch Ace closely since kids could wander off.

Sidwell suggested you could turn your head for only a moment and a child would be gone, so Charlotte was unsettled and got Ace out of there in a hurry.

Later, Charlotte gave Laura updates on her Sidwell run-in and the comment he made, so Laura definitely seemed worried about Ace’s safety.

Back with Sidwell, he spoke with Marco about Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) being a man of many talents and someone who could be useful on the project.

There was also some talk about using Charlotte to their advantage and the message Sidwell sent to Laura through his veiled Ace threat.

In bed together, Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) and Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper) talked about doing things right this time around.

Once Jordan headed to Bobbie’s with Curtis, she talked about enjoying the perks of working for Sidwell right until the moment she took him down.

Curtis acknowledged that although they wanted a more honest relationship this time around, Jordan didn’t have to tell him everything when it came to Sidwell.

At the Quartermaine stables, Molly Lansing-Davis (Kristen Vaganos) was wearing Cody Bell’s (Josh Kelly) shirt after continuing their celebration last night.

Cody made pancakes and planned to spend the day with Molly, so he was about to carry her upstairs for more lovemaking when Felicia Scorpio (Kristina Wagner) brought James West (Gary James Fuller) for a riding lesson.

James questioned why Cody was holding Molly and eventually asked why she was wearing his shirt, so they made kid-friendly excuses.

When James wondered if Molly was Cody’s girlfriend, Cody said yes while she simultaneously said no.

That led to Cody and Molly exchanging an awkward look.

After Suzanne (Jen Ray) brought Alexis the new witness list, Alexis spoke about her latest strategy to make Michael look guilty.

Although the anonymous letter Alexis received was unsubstantiated, she planned to prove the contents were accurate.

Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Kate Mansi) came along later and snooped in Alexis’ file, so she confronted her mom about framing Michael for a crime he didn’t commit.

Alexis acted like Michael would be the one on trial if the cops hadn’t botched the case, so she defended her court strategy.

There was some debate about the letter claiming Michael was at Drew Cain’s (Cameron Mathison) house the night of the shooting and spotted by Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot).

Kristina suggested Drew could’ve sent it, but Alexis was focused on providing reasonable doubt to get Willow off the hook. Alexis was also doing all this for Scout Quartermaine (Cosette Abinante) and urged Kristina not to warn Michael about her new tactic.

In ADA Justine Turner’s (Nazneen Contractor) office on Friday’s GH episode, she strategized with Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) before receiving Alexis’ latest witness list.

Dante was on that list along with Ezra, Jacinda Bracken (Paige Herschell), Tracy, Michael and Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst).

ADA Turner knew Alexis would try to act like the cops focused on Willow too quickly.

Dante acknowledged that Alexis would make a case that he was protecting his brother, but Justine had faith in him to handle himself on the witness stand.

Meanwhile, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) warned Michael that ADA Turner would try to trap him into speaking out against Willow in court.

Sonny didn’t want all that on record for Wiley Corinthos (Viron Weaver) and Amelia Corinthos’ (Sequoia and Serenity Mork Macko) sake.

Michael felt the kids should know Willow didn’t put them first and said he’d do anything to protect them.

Sonny questioned what Michael meant by anything, so Michael assumed his dad thought he might be the real shooter.

In the end, Michael told Sonny that anything he said on the stand would be for the benefit of his children.

General Hospital spoilers say Willow’s trial will bring even more shocking news, so stay tuned!
