It was an eventful night for the teenager on the BBC soap after he attacked his dad’s girlfriend

EastEnders fans are saying that they’ve ‘worked out’ what happens next to Joel Marshall after Vicki Fowler’s fate was revealed.

Fans had an anxious wait to see if Vicky was okay after the wayward teenager punched her on Thursday night (October 9).

In an episode where Joel showed his classmates an explicit video in school and hit Amy Mitchell, Max Murray’s character was furious with Vicky for calling him out on his action.

Filming and taunting Vicky as she lay on the floor after being punched, viewers were unsure where the storyline was going next.

In scenes aired on the BBC soap Monday night (October 13), Ross Marshall apologised to his son Joel for their earlier argument, unaware of his actions.

With Vicki seeking help at The Queen Vic before she collapsed, Tommy Moon snuck out to meet his friend, who pleaded for help.

After Joel played down the extent of his attack on Vicki, Tommy agreed to hide him in the Slaters garage until things cooled down.

Tommy’s aunt Zoe Slater sensed something was up and tried to make Tommy see sense, but he remained tight-lipped on Joel’s whereabouts.

Meanwhile, Ross was horrified to learn of Vicki’s attack and attempted to shut down rumours that Joel was responsible. While Vicki was alive after the attack, she underwent surgery having a collapsed lung and a broken arm.

The jam-packed episode then saw Ross horrified to later discover evidence on Joel’s laptop that he was responsible for the attack.

Shortly after Ross found Tommy, the pair decided to do the right thing as Joel was left stunned his dad and friend betrayed him as the police arrested him.

Over on the EastEnders Reddit page, viewers praised the episode for providing consequences to Joel’s actions while predicting where things will go next

The video of Avani will be discovered by the police along with all of his other deviant acts.” @eastenderse added: “I did NOT expect Ross and Tommy to do the right thing this quickly, but I’m so glad they did. Is this the end for Joel in EE now?”

@RobbieNewton commented: “That bit at the end was telling, Joel pleading to Ross that he didn’t do it, whilst Ross had seen it, I think it has, albeit at very, very long last, clicked to Ross just how messed up his son is, and how is son is a sociopathic liar. But in Eastenders fashion, why do I expect Ross to have not given the footage to the police.”
