Don’t Miss This Low-Budget ‘S.W.A.T.’ Movie Before It Leaves Streaming

That production is the third installment of the S.W.A.T. film series, titled S.W.A.T.: Under Siege, and was released direct-to-video on August 1, 2017. The movie wasn’t much of a hit entry in the acclaimed franchise, but it offers decent action and some strong performances, particularly from one of its leads, Michael Jai White. Now, we’ve learned that as part of the titles leaving in October, Netflix has added S.W.A.T.: Under Siege, giving S.W.A.T. fans only a few weeks to check out the low-budget film.

S.W.A.T.: Under Siege came after another direct-to-video franchise film, S.W.A.T.: Firefight, which debuted in 2011 as a standalone sequel to the 2003 film S.W.A.T. Similar to the 2017 series, S.W.A.T. is based on the ABC police procedural of the same name that aired for two seasons from February 24, 1975, to April 3, 1976. The 2003 crime thriller is the first installment in the film series, directed by Clark Johnson. Starring in it were Samuel L. JacksonColin FarrellMichelle RodriguezLL Cool JJosh Charles, and Jeremy Renner.
