Like Sands Through The Hourglass

Since its premiere on November 8, 1965, DOOL has become one of the most iconic and longest-running daytime dramas in television history. Created by Ted and Betty Corday, the show was originally built around the middle-class Horton family in the fictional town of Salem. What began as a half-hour soap opera quickly gained momentum, eventually expanding to a full hour in 1975, giving viewers more time to immerse themselves in the drama.

Throughout the years, Days has evolved beyond the Hortons, introducing powerhouse families like the Bradys, the DiMeras, and the Kiriakis clan. Fans have been captivated by storylines that range from heartfelt romances and family struggles to shocking secrets, supernatural twists, and unforgettable adventures. The series has never shied away from pushing boundaries, blending classic soap traditions with daring new storytelling.

Legendary characters such as Maggie Horton (Suzanne Rogers) and Julie Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes) embody the heart and history of the show, while new generations continue to keep Salem thriving. After nearly six decades, DOOL remains a fan favorite. Its move to Peacock in 2022 only reaffirmed its place in the future of daytime drama, proving that its legacy continues to stand the test of time.
