Coronation Street’s Debbie Webster could be set for a secret child twist on the cobbles and fans ‘know’ who it is

Coronation Street fans are certain Debbie Webster has a long-lost child and they are already on the cobbles.

Debbie (Sue Devaney) first appeared on the soap way back in 1984, as the sister of Kevin (Michael Le Vell). She ended up leaving a year later, only to make a return in 2019.

And it’s fair to say Debbie has become a firm favourite with fans. However, over on the soap recently, the beloved cobbles resident has had a dramatic few months.

At the start of the year, Kevin’s world was turned upside down when he was diagnosed with testicular cancer. Then, Kevin and Debbie’s estranged brother Carl (Jonathan Howard) showed up after living in Germany for years.

However, in heartbreaking turn of events, Debbie was then diagnosed with vascular dementia, for which there isn’t a cure. However, Debbie is determined to live her life to the full with her family supporting her.

This week, after making a speech at a women in business event, Debbie let her hair down with residents including Sally Metcalfe (Dynevor), Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson) and Bernie Winter (Jane Hazlegrove).

After almost getting arrested, the gang headed back to Debbie’s where they continued to drink. During a heart-to-heart with the fellow ladies, Glenda Shuttleworth (Jodie Prenger) asked Debbie if she regrets not having any kids.

However, Debbie appeared to look uncomfortable with the question causing Glenda to move the conversation on quickly.

And now, fans can’t help but think a secret child twist is in store for Debbie – and they ‘know’ exactly who it is. On a Coronation Street Facebook fan page, one person said: “After tonight’s episode and Glenda asking Debbie about children, I really think it’s going to come out that Debbie had a child back in the day.”

Someone else agreed: “I thought that too she was off-screen for several years remember.” A third also penned: “Yeah maybe she gave birth but put the child up for adoption?”

A fourth then suggested Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton) as Debbie’s potential secret child and penned: “Lauren?” Another agreed: “That’s a good idea we’ve never seen Lauren’s mum on screen or know much about her.”
