CBS Confirms Y: Marshals Premiere Date — Yellowstone Spinoff Details Revealed
The Dutton legacy isn’t done just yet—and neither is Kayce.
After five explosive seasons on Yellowstone, fan-favorite Kayce Dutton (played by Luke Grimes) is heading down a new trail in the highly anticipated spinoff series, Y: Marshals, premiering Sunday, March 1, 2026, at 8/7c on CBS. And if you thought ranch life was rough, just wait until you see what it takes to wrangle justice in modern-day Montana.

From Cowboy to U.S. Marshal
According to CBS, Kayce’s journey will include “changing paths,” “trying to find a new beginning,” and “grappling with skeletons he’d rather keep buried.” In other words: typical Dutton drama—just with federal jurisdiction.
Familiar Faces (and a Few Surprises)
Several Yellowstone fan-favorites are confirmed to return:
- Brecken Merrill as Tate Dutton, Kayce’s son.
- Gil Birmingham as Thomas Rainwater, high chief and casino powerhouse.
- Mo Brings Plenty as Mo, Rainwater’s right-hand man and Tribal Police officer.

And the cast of new characters is just as stacked:
- Logan Marshall-Green joins as Pete Calvin, one of Kayce’s former military brothers-in-arms.
- Arielle Kebbel plays Belle, a no-nonsense U.S. Marshal with a résumé full of high-stakes action.
- Ash Santos steps in as Andrea, another marshal bringing heat to the team.
- Tatanka Means plays Miles, adding his signature edge to the crew.
- Brett Cullen recurs as Harry Gifford, the Montana Marshal boss overseeing the operation.
Is Monica Coming Back?
The biggest mystery heading into the premiere? Whether Kelsey Asbille will reprise her role as Monica Dutton. She appeared in all five seasons of Yellowstone—but as of now, she hasn’t confirmed her involvement in Y: Marshals. With Kayce and Tate both returning, fans are left wondering what could be keeping Monica away.
More Dutton Drama on the Horizon
Y: Marshals is just one piece of the growing Sheridan-verse. Also in development:
- The Dutton Ranch, featuring Beth, Rip, and Carter.
- The Madison, a culture-clash drama about a NYC family moving to Montana.
- 1944, another historical Dutton prequel.
- A series based at the legendary Four Sixes Ranch in Texas.
But for now, all eyes are on Kayce.
