A pregnant soap legend who has appeared in both Coronation Street and Emmerdale has showed off her baby bump

A Coronation Street legend has left fans over the moon as she showed off her baby bump ahead of giving birth.

Paula Lane played Kylie Platt on the ITV soap until the character was killed off in 2016. Paula then returned to the world of soap in 2024, playing Ella Forster on Emmerdale.

And on Emmerdale, it didn’t take Paula’s character Ella, long to find herself involved in some drama, especially when she split from Dr Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson).

Her dark past also came to light too, with it being revealed that Ella had previously spent time in prison after she murdered a childhood friend when they were kids.

However, Ella ended up leaving the Dales this year when she was arrested after holding Liam hostage, determined to prove that she hadn’t spiked Chas (Lucy Pargeter) – but viewers will recall that John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) was the guilty party.

Away from the soap, Paula is married to her long-term partner Tom Shaw. The pair tied the knot in May 2014 and are proud parents to Arthur, born in 2014, and Penny, born in 2016.

This year though, Paula announced the exciting news that she was expecting her third child with Tom, due to arrive in December. The actress wrote on Instagram at the time: “Some special news to share from us @sirtomshaw Christmas just got a bit more magical. Our baby boy due December 2025”.

Since then, Paula has been keeping fans updated on her pregnancy journey. And last week, Paula took to her Instagram to share a slew of snaps from a recent trip away with Tom, including photos of the couple taking in the sights.

In one snap, Paula showed off her baby bump wearing a tight black dress. For the mirror selfie, Paula smiles to the camera and could be cradling the bump.

Fans and co-stars were left gushing over Paula’s post and rushed to the comments to dish out the compliments. One person said: “You look absolutely gorgeous and Wholesome Paula. What a Beautiful couple..Enjoy!!” Another chimed in: “Looking beautiful. Congratulations Sending best wishes.”

Michelle Hardwick who plays Vanessa Woodfield wrote: “Glowing.” While former Coronation Street star Debbie Rush gushed: “You look gorgeous.”
