Ada Nicodemou has poked fun at her Home and Away character Leah Patterson by sharing some hilarious Halloween costume ideas inspired by the soap’s most dramatic storylines.

Nicodemou, who has portrayed the beloved Summer Bay resident since 2000, has seen her character endure just about every twist imaginable over the past 25 years.

From kidnappings and stabbings to runaway weddings and heartbreaking farewells, Leah has survived it all — earning her the title of Home and Away’s ultimate heroine.

Leaning into the drama, Nicodemou suggested a series of witty costume ideas based on Leah’s most memorable storylines, including Impaled Leah and Runaway Bride.

Fans were quick to flood the comments with laughter, calling her post “too good” and “hilarious”.

Off-screen, the mum-of-one has found her own happy ending with her real-life partner — and on-screen husband — James Stewart.

Her first husband dies

Leah’s first husband on the show was Vinnie, played by Ryan Kwanten, but he died in prison. Later, it’s revealed he actually died in witness protection during a farming accident. It’s the first of many heartbreaks Leah has to endure.

A surrogate for Sally

In one of the show’s biggest storylines ever, Leah became a surrogate mother for Sally, played by Kate Ritchie. She goes on to give birth to Pippa but it’s not all smooth sailing, with the friendship tested by the arrival of a new baby. Thankfully, it all works out in the end.

Held captive by a stalker

Leah got caught up in the drama around Jasmine’s online stalker, which saw them both get kidnapped and help captive. But a quick-thinking Leah suggests ordering food online and in the comments box she frantically types an SOS message, which saves the day.

Escaping a kidnapper in a wedding dress

Leah was held captive by a deranged man who not only wants to punish her but wants to marry her too. The Summer Bay favourite eventually escaped in a wedding dress but Nicodemou admitted it was “creepy” putting on the costume.

Impaled after a car crash

Leah is involved in a car crash after gang members cut the brakes on the vehicle. Leah isn’t the target of the attack but becomes collateral damage and is impaled through her torso by a metal pole … but, of course survives.
