‘Yellowstone’ Producer Taylor Sheridan is Leaving Paramount
Taylor Sheridan is leaving Paramount for NBCUniversal in a deal beginning Jan. 1, 2029.
Taylor Sheridan, producer of the hit series “Yellowstone,” is reportedly leaving Paramount for NBCUniversal.

The deal with NBCUniversal is set to begin Jan. 1, 2029, as his contract with Paramount runs through 2028. Sheridan still has 3 more years of producing with Paramount, meaning any project that Sheridan creates in that time will be controlled by the company. Including any ongoing series and future episodes produced for that ongoing series as well.
The numbers of the deal have not been published, but Deadline predicts the deal could be worth up to $1 billion for the producer.
The deal with NBCUniversal also includes a movie production deal. Which means he may be able to start working with them on films much sooner than he would be with any new television series.
David Glasser and his production company, Studio 101, will also be moving to NBCUniversal. Glasser and Studio 101’s deal begins in early 2026 with the media giant and owners of the streaming service, Peacock. Glasser is a long-time producing partner with Sheridan, and his studio produced the “Yellowstone” spin-offs, “1883” and “1923”. In addition to other TV hits produced alongside Sheridan, like “Tulsa King”, “Mayor of Kingstown”, “Lioness”, and “1923”, all available on Paramount+.
Paramount is currently going through a massive merger with Skydance, and Sheridan’s departure may signal an even bigger shakeup for the company. “Yellowstone” and Sheridan’s other works have been at the bedrock of Paramount’s latest streaming success with Paramount+. This now leaves the company without one of its biggest producers.
