EastEnders fans ‘work out’ the truth as Zoe Slater reveals Dennis Rickman isn’t her twins’ father

Michelle Ryan’s character left Sharon Watts stunned on the BBC soap last month

EastEnders fans are saying that they’ve ‘worked out’ the truth as Zoe Slater revealed Dennis Rickman isn’t the father of her twins.

Shortly after Michelle Ryan returned to the BBC soap on a full-time basis for the first time since 2005, it was revealed that Zoe had twins in 2006.

After being shot accidentally by Jack Branning and Ravi Gulati, viewers were taken to a hospital through a flashback sequence set one year after her Walford exit.

Giving birth to twins, Zoe decided to put her son up for adoption after believing her daughter had died after a nurse said she needed to talk to her about her health.

Since moving back in with the Slaters, Zoe has been on a desperate mission to try and find her son, getting involved with shady private investigators along the way.

Last month saw Zoe stun Sharon Watts when she revealed that the father of her twins was actually Dennis Rickman. Dennis and Zoe were romantically linked in the past, with the pair last being intimate onscreen together in 2004.

As viewers will recall, Dennis was tragically killed off on New Year’s Eve months after getting married to Sharon, who was pregnant with their child at the time of his death.

Zoe’s mum Kat Slater has been suspicious of her this week, following her to a meeting with a new PI, where Zoe claimed she didn’t know who the father of her children was.

With Kat furious at Zoe for stealing money to pay the PI, scenes aired on Thursday night (September 23) saw the pair at odds yet again.

After Kat’s other kids Bert and Ernie, who claimed there was a ghost in the barrel store, she and Zoe found a kitten trapped in the sewer pip.

Days on from hearing Kat telling Alfie Moon that they might have to kick her out, Zoe was adamant that the animal needed a new home.

Looking to make things right Kat told Zoe that she will always be welcome to stay with her, but wanted to know the truth about her child.

“What I said earlier about not knowing who the father of my son is, it ain’t really Dennis Rickman,” Zoe said in a shocking cliffhanger.

Following the episode, EastEnders fans rushed to social media to have their say on who they now think the twins’ father actually is.

@absbabs1 said on Reddit: “I’ve got a feeling it’s Dr Antony. Idk if the timelines match up but why is he back otherwise, apart from the wedding which was ages ago.” @jamie_rey77 added: “Omg, if they’re going to end the episode like that, they should’ve at least said who the father actually is! I’ll cry if she actually doesn’t know who it is.”

@BigDee_1996 wrote: “I think the baby daddy is Anthony because why else would he have came back apart from a visit to his dads wedding also he’s been sniffing around Zoe.” @ComputerAccurate8281 posted: “It makes sense but I hope not. He is so boring.”

@Longjumping-Sea-5317 commented: “I would have taken the destruction of Shannis and Dennis character for a good young Rickman/ watts lad and (hopefully the lass sister) instead of boring Anthony the dad being Dennis who is been dead for twenty years works better than alive boring nothing Anthony.”
