The Star of 9-1-1’s Shiny Spinoff Would Love a Grey’s Anatomy Reunion: ‘They Were All Great’
9-1-1: Nashville star Chris O’Donnell opens up about his hopes for a Grey’s Anatomy reunion on the hit drama series. The actor already stars with a co-stars, but he’s always down for a bigger reunion.
He continued, “Patrick [Dempsey] used to live in my neighborhood. I haven’t seen him in forever. Ellen [Pompeo]. Ellen’s still doing the show, I think, or at least part-time. It’s been, I think, what, 20, 25 years?”
O’Donnell appeared as veterinarian Dr. Finn Dandridge in several episodes of Season 2 and Season 3 of Grey’s Anatomy. At the time, Dandridge was introduced as a potential romantic interest for Ellen Pompeo’s Meredith Grey after stepping into the series to help care for Doc, the lovable dog Meredith shared with Dempsey’s Derek Shepherd. While Finn was a fan-favorite part of Grey’s Anatomy for his short time on the show, the character took his exit once it became clear that Meredith and Derek were going to get back together in spite of all the issues in their relationship.
The show already features one of his former costars, Jessica Capshaw, who appeared in Grey’s Anatomy. They also worked together on the legal drama The Practice. “We, you know, overlapped on a couple different shows, which is a small world.”
