Fans of Coronation Street have yet to correctly figure out what Jodie Ramsey is hiding and what she’s up to, according to one star.

Olivia Frances Brown, who plays Jodie, exclusively spoke to The Mirror about what’s ahead for the troubled character. She teased fans may finally find out what the deal is with her trinket box and its contents.

She said it would soon be revisited, and that fans are right to question why she’s got the items. Suggesting there’s a reason those particular items are in there, Olivia confirmed they were mementos but hinted there was more to that.

She also addressed fan theories about Jodie in terms of what she was up to and why, and all about her secret past. While Olivia admitted no one had yet figured it all out, she did say there had been some “close calls” with fans nearly guessing the truth.

She told us: “Everybody has got an opinion. It is nice to see people following closely, investing in Jodie and trying to figure her out. I don’t think anybody has yet.

‌

“There has been a few close calls. Some people are onto something… but she is a mystery to people. That is what’s making viewers watch because they are desperate to understand her and what she’s doing. Nobody knows yet.”

We asked her about that trinket box and if we would find out what all the items are and why they are there. She shared: “Oh yeah, definitely. Every single item in that box is there for a reason.

“There is a story behind it all. It’s so interesting to explore that. She collects these things cos she likes to take trophies or mementoes from people who she has meddled with.”

But Jodie will be caught out after a string of street thefts it seems. As well as stealing Lisa Swain’s detective badge, she also stole Brian Packham’s beloved book, and cut Bernie Winter’s face out of her wedding photo.

Lily Platt found her aunt’s weird box, and Jodie asked her to stay quiet. But Olivia reckons sooner rather than later Jodie may go too far and expose her collection.

Asked if she could be caught out, Olivia said: “Oh yeah. There is only so long you can behave like Jodie does before it all comes back to haunt her. She is gonna have to face up to some of her past. It’s inevitable.”

Viewers had speculated all sorts of things about Jodie, from a serial killer theory to her possibly trying to ruin her sister Shona’s life. The latter idea was teased to be true when Jodie tried to ruin her sister’s marriage to David Platt.
