On the September 23 episode of Days of our Lives, Chad told Cat that he doesn’t want to hide their relationship anymore or keep pretending that they’re just randomly running into each other. But did we also find out exactly what will ultimately break them up?

Is Chad Ready to Commit to Cat?

Chad (Billy Flynn) may have said that he’s ready to upgrade his relationship with Cat (AnnaLynne McCord)… but he also said he wasn’t ready to go completely public. So they’re going to stop hiding… but in a low-key, secretive way. Hey, Chad is a DiMera, that’s pretty on brand for them.

So Chad and Cat will go on official dates, where no one who dislikes them can see them. That will be easy in the case of Jennifer (Melissa Reeves) and Jack (Matthew Ashford). They live in Boston, and they can duck around Chad’s kids. They’re probably in bed by 8 PM.

The Danger from Within

What if Chad’s in-laws and other Salem busybodies don’t end up being the problem? What if the conflict comes from Cat’s side of the family? Not Felicity (Kennedy Garcia), she’s already practically singing, “Chad and Cat/Sitting in a tree/K-I-S-S-I-N-G….”

And not Aaron (Louis Tomeo). He’s too busy playing Dungeons and Dragons in college, trying to subtly get Ari (Marissa Reyes) to play with (that’s what the kids are calling it, nowadays). He doesn’t care what Cat does. And we assume Cat’s mom doesn’t really get a vote, considering she is responsible for Cat’s plot against Chad in the first place.

Oh, Brother

On the same episode, we found out that Mark (Jonah Robinson) got his parole and is, presumably, on his way back to Salem. Chad didn’t go along with Jack and Jenn’s plan to kibosh Mark’s freedom. But that doesn’t mean he wants the guy… around.
