Is there an EastEnders early release episode today? Tonight’s episode to feature huge character death – spoilers
EastEnders fans were left confused after the early release of the latest episode of the soap failed to appear on the BBC iPlayer earlier this morning (November 11).
The BBC soap normally uploads episode to the BBC iPlayer at 6am on broadcast days to allow fans to watch the latest installment from Albert Square as early as they want.
The episode is the same episode which is broadcast on BBC One later that same evening, meaning that those who may miss the 7.30pm airtime can still catch up on all the drama from Walford.
However, fans were left disappointed on Tuesday morning (November 11) after the early release episode failed to materialise online at the correct time. Viewers took to social media, with one fan saying: “WHERE IS TODAY’S EPISODE OF EASTENDERS?”
Another viewer added: “Someone’s messing up my morning routine by forgetting to flip the switch on the 6am iPlayer release of today’s Eastenders.”
While the move has frustrated fans, the episode has finally been added to the BBC iPlayer, showing the climax of a huge storyline.
*Warning – spoilers ahead for tonight’s episode of EastEnders*
One EastEnders character is set to meet their demise in tonight’s episode of the soap, following a tense storyline seen on screen in recent weeks.

Okie is expected to be killed off in tonight’s episode, shortly after he confronted Kojo on Monday night’s episode. Okie and Ravi had taken advantage of Kojo’s vulnerability in a shocking ‘cuckooing’ plot earlier this year, using him for their own criminal gain.
Speaking about the storyline, executive producer Ben Wadey said: “At EastEnders, we’re proud to tell stories that reflect the real challenges people face, and Kojo’s cuckooing storyline is one that feels especially important. Cuckooing is a form of exploitation that too often goes unseen and hasn’t featured on EastEnders before.
“Through Kojo’s experience we hope to have shined a light on how easily vulnerable people can be manipulated and isolated – something that can happen in any community, but feels particularly resonant in a city like London, where people live side by side and yet can still slip through the cracks. Working closely with experts and charities, our aim has been to tell this story with care and authenticity, and to raise awareness as to how to identify the signs of exploitation and the importance of reaching out for help.”
Last week saw Kojo and Harry finally breaking free from Ravi and Okie’s grip, with the pair reporting their ordeal to the police. However, while Ravi has admitted his role to police, last night’s episode ended with Kojo coming home to a dishevelled flat before learning that Okie was waiting to confront him.
In tonight’s episode, Harry comes to Kojo’s defence when an argument breaks out, with Harry accidently stabbing Okie. It has now been confirmed that Okie will die on screen from his injuries. The soap has also enlisted the help of anti-knife crime charity The Ben Kinsella Trust to help assist with the storyline involving Okie’s death.
EastEnders will air at 7.30pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer tonight. The episode is available to watch on BBC iPlayer right now, with older episodes also available to catch up on right now.
